The morning city tour of Mysore will take you to the Mysore palace that was originally built by the Maharaja of Mysore in the year 1911-1912. The palace is of harmonious synthesis of the Hindu and Saracenic styles of architecture having archways, domes, turrets, colonnades and sculptures. Visit the art gallery. Drive to the Chamundi hill to visit the Chamundeshwari Temple. From the hill itself you will get a panoramic view of the city of Mysore. On your way back to Mysore, visit the Nandi bull. Afternoon is free in Mysore or you could visit the Krishnarajasagar dam and the Brindavan Gardens. Mysore is a good place for buying the famous "Mysore silk".

This morning drive from Mysore to Nagarhole and in the evening enjoy a game drive inside the park. Nagarhole a National Park derives its name from "Naga" meaning snake and "Hole" meaning streams. It was a hunting place of the kings of the Wadiyars dynasty. Nagarhole Sanctuary has many hills, valleys, waterfalls and streams and a huge forest cover. Nagarhole Park is a home to various animals, birds and reptiles. Some of the reptiles found here are crocodile, common vine snake, common wolf snake, rat snake, bamboo pit viper, Russell's viper, krait, python, etc. The park is also a house to different insects. Harpegnathos saltator, a species of ants can jump up to a meter height. The park is closed for visitors during the mating season of animals and also during monsoons.

Your morning and evening will be spent viewing wildlife in Nagarhole Wildlife Sanctuary. The wild life found in the park are tigers, leopards, wild dogs, jackals, sloth bears, hyena, wild boar, gaur (Indian bison), elephants, chital sambar barking deer, mouse deer, four-horned antelopes, hare, mongoose, porcupine, red giant flying squirrel, Indian giant flying squirrel, palm civet, etc. Out of more than 250 birds been spotted in Nagarhole jungle, some of them are white-backed vulture, red headed vulture, greater grey headed fish eagle, greater spotted eagle, Nilgiri wood-pigeon, parakeet, grey hornbill, white bellied treepie, the white cheeked barbet, Indian scimitar babbler Malabar whistling thrush, painted bush quail Sirkeer malkhoa, Indian robin, Indian peafowl, etc. Nagarhole Animal Sanctuary is also home to Jenu Kuruba and Koraga tribes.

Sulthan Bathery earlier known as Sultan's Battery gets its name from Tipu Sultan of Mysore who used the Jain temple here as his battery in the 18th century. Sulthan Battery the largest town of Wayanad district is at a height of 930 meters above sea level. With a pleasant climate throughout the year and beautiful hills across the horizon, this place attracts people who wish to relax and enjoy nature. This place was ruled by the Rajas of the Veda tribe and later by the Pazhassi Raja of Kottayam. This place was taken over by Hyder Ali of Mysore who handed it over to his son Tipu Sultan. In the 18th century Tipu Sultan used the Jain Temple as his Battery. Since then the original name Ganapathi Vattam was changed to Sulthan Bathery.

Bathery Jumma Masjid is quite large and can accommodate 1000 worshippers. The Ganapati Temple - a Hindu Temple dedicated to the God Ganesha. The Mariyamman Temple has an annual festival in February or March and is important for the local tribes. The nearby Edakkal Caves with Stone Age pictorial writings on their walls can be reached by a little trekking. Even Thovarimala Ezhuthupara where one can see Stone Age pictorial writings involves some trekking.

Thalassery earlier known as Tellicherry was known as the "Paris of Kerala" due its close proximity to the sole French military base in Mahe, which was only 5 kms away. The Portuguese were the first to enter this region to establish their centre in Cannanore and were then followed by the Dutch. The French were the next who made a base in Mahe followed by British. One of the world's best cardamom and also the Tellicherry pepper, which is quite pungent and strong was grown in the nearby provinces due to which Thalassery became a very important and major center for trading of spice for the Europeans. Alappuzha earlier known as Alleppey is a picturesque town and is known as Venice of the East. The city is crisscrossed with canals and offers you backwaters, beaches, and lagoons. A cruise in the backwaters is an unforgettable experience. Every year, on the second Saturday of August, the Nehru Trophy Boat Race is held on the Punnamada Lake. Kuttanad with continuous paddy fields and lush green coconut palms is known as the rice bowl of Kerala. This is one of the few places in the world where rice is cultivated below sea level. Coir is the most important commodity manufactured in Alappuzha.

Alleppey on the Arabian Sea with numerous canals meandering through the town is a very important destination for tourists visiting Kerala. The Kerala backwaters are a network of large lakes linked by canals and fed by rivers. The backwaters are formed because of the waves and shore currents creating low barrier islands. Here you will board a houseboat in Kerala's backwaters. The charm of staying a night in the houseboats known as kettuvallam in the backwaters is great. These boats were used to ferry the grain. Thatched roof covers provide protection from the sun and rain. The boats are like floating cottages with a sleeping area, toilets, dining area and a sit out area on the deck. This morning you will be transferred to Kochi. Kochi earlier known as 'Cochin' is referred as the Queen of Arabian Sea. Kochi has remained the popular centre in across the world for the trade of spices for number of centuries. The name of the city comes from Malayalam term "Kochazhi" that actually means small lagoon. Kochi was put on the world map by Vasco-de-Gama. The Arabs, Portuguese, British, Dutch, all have left their impression on the history of Kochi. After Mumbai, Kochi is probably the second most important city on the west coast of India. Here, you could enjoy a Kathakali dance show.

During the afternoon city tour of Kochi, you will be taken to some of the renowned spots of Kochi that will include the Portuguese churches, mosques and temples along with the Jewish synagogue. You will be taken to watch the Chinese style fishing nets, which are mostly seen in Kerala. It holds around 10m of height and consists of cantilever along with an outstretched net that is suspended in the sea and one huge stone suspended on other end with ropes for the counterweights. Every installation of this fishing-net gets operated by group of six fishermen.
