Meet & greet upon arrival & transfer to your hotel for check in. Take rest. Evening
7 pm : Originally established in the 1760s by a local chief Gujar Singh Bhangi, The Gobindgarh Fort was rebuilt in the early 19th century by Maharaja Ranjit Singh. It was opened to public in the year 2017 after a massive restoration. The sword used by the Maharaja and the largest canon of its time called Zamzama are the landmark exhibits here.

- The Gobindgarh Fort is open until 9pm
9 pm :It is time to pamper your taste buds and immerse in the savouries that the city dishes out. Take your pick from Amritsari chole – kulche, sarson ka saag – makki ki roti, Amritsari Fish, Bhatti–da–Chicken and not to forget the appetising accompaniment – Amritsari Lassi. Numerous popular joints doting the city offer these delectable cuisines so you are truly spoilt for choice.

5 am : Do not miss the ‘palki-sahib’ at the Golden Temple early in the morning. The morning mist and peace along with holy chants makes the whole experience extremely pious and breath-taking. The Golden Temple or Sri Harmandir Sahib is one of the most celebrated Gurudwaras in the world, frequented by people of all religions and cultures. Watching the sun-rise as you quietly sit alongside the ‘Amrit Sarovar’ will be an experience etched in memory forever. Start your day with the blessings of the lord by savouring the ‘Guru Ka Langar’, prepared by devotees in the community kitchen.

8 am :If you are still craving for some street food savouries, a perfectly healthy glass of ‘lassi’ along with poori-sabji or mixed fritters will surely fill you up, preparing you for a day filled with exploration ahead!
10 am : As you step out of the bustling streets that lead to the Golden Temple, it’s time to step back in history and visit the wide sprawls of the Jallianwala Bagh, which even today houses the bullet marks of the shots that were fired and the Well where the victims jumped into, in a desperate act to save their lives. Along with them, now also stands a red-hued Martyr's Memorial built in the shape of a flame, saluting the horrific loss.

Afternoon explore the Town Hall area with a visit to the Partition Museum, which is the first museum to record the trauma that resulted after the mass exodus of millions of people across the newly carved borders of Indian and Pakistan in 1947. Its 14 galleries, starting from the pre-Partition period, take the visitor through various phases of the Partition.
The Museum is open from 10:00 am to 6:00 pm and remains closed on Monday.
2 pm :Head out towards the highway and savour a traditional Punjab Thali available in both vegetarian and non-vegetarian options in the numerous hotels and resorts that are doted along the route. The options are plenty and cuisine absolutely lip-smacking!
3 pm : The War Heroes Memorial Museum on the way to Attari on NH1 is also one of the popular attractions that should definitely not be missed. The gigantic 45-metre sword jutting out into the sky with four lion heads at the base is sight to behold. The 54-tonne stainless steel sword symbolizes the courage and valour of Punjab. There is also a 7D theatre screening films from the wars fought.
The Museum is open from 9:30 am – 6 pm
5 pm : The Attari – Wagah Border is a unique ground that showcases the military showmanship between India and Pakistan. People in huge numbers come to witness the patriotic revelry and watch the ceremony of closing the border gates and lowering the flags on both sides. The Border Security Forces engage in competitive foot stomping and high-kicks and the atmosphere becomes electric as people wave flags, cheer, clap rapturously.

8 pm : Offering an authentic dose of the culture and food of Punjab, Sadda Pind, located on the Attari Road, is a recreated Punjabi village, which is one of the best places to experience the rich rural life and culture of the state. Literally meaning ‘our village’, the place is buzzing in the evenings.

10 am : One of the most famous temples in Amritsar is the 16th century Durgiana Temple, dedicated to Goddess Durga. This temple attracts Hindu sages and scholars from all over the country, as it is a well-known repository of Hindu scriptures. Also referred to as the Lakshmi Narayan temple, the Durgiana temple was rebuilt in the 20th century.
11 am : Ram Tirath is believed to have been the ashram of Maharishi Valmiki. Also known as Bhagwan Valmik Tirath Sthal – the grand composer of the epic ‘Ramayana’, the legend has it that it is here that Devi Sita, wife of Lord Rama, gave birth to her twin sons Luv and Kush.
Walk through the bustling streets of the Hall Bazaar and shop to your heart’s content for phulkari work, beautifully carved jewellery, especially earrings, the leather footwear (Juttis) and savouries to carry back home such as aam papad and vadiyan…
